Please read them carefully as by proceeding with access to the Dig Down South West website you are deemed to have accepted these terms. Cornish Mutual reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time by posting changes online. Terms and Conditions for Schools involved in Dig Down South West Campaign
To qualify for a vegetable garden for your school, you need to be a primary school based in Cornwall, Devon, Somerset or Dorset. The address you provide with your vegetable garden application will be used to deliver your ‘school vegetable garden’ so please ensure the contact details are correct. You must include a named contact at the school for all liaison.
After taking delivery of the vegetable garden, schools must ensure they proceed with planting and preparing their designated area within 28 days. They must maintain this garden for at least six months and keep the Dig Down South West team informed of the progress of their garden on a regular basis. There is no limit on the number of children that can be involved in the project.
Schools that apply for a ‘school vegetable garden’ agree to the following:
Publicity
Schools that apply to receive a ‘school vegetable garden’ from the Dig Down South West campaign by doing so agree, that if they are successful and it is required, to be involved in any publicity about their school’s activities in relation to the campaign – this includes appearing on the Dig Down South West website, the Cornish Mutual website and to feature in any local and regional broadcast and print media coverage. Cornish Mutual reserves the right to use the school in any publicity, at anytime, to raise the profile of the Dig Down South West campaign.
Photography
Schools applying to be involved in the Dig Down South West campaign are wholly responsible for getting any relevant permissions from parents for photography or film footage to be used of their children.
Teachers must ensure that all parents have agreed to allow photographs or filming of their children to be taken and the agreement extends to the pictures (whether moving or still) of pupils being used by Cornish Mutual and the Dig Down South West campaign in the creation, publication and promotion of the campaign in all media, marketing material and on the Dig Down South West and Cornish Mutual websites.
School Vegetable Garden
Cornish Mutual is offering a single school vegetable garden to the first 50 primary schools that apply to the Dig Down South West campaign. These applications will be divided as evenly as possible across the four counties of Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset. Application is made by filling in the online form.
Successful applicants will be informed by 1 March 2010 they will then receive a garden when they become available in spring 2010 normally around late May/early June.
The final date for applications will be 28 February 2010 at 5.00pm.
The Dig Down South West campaign is run by Cornish Mutual, CMA House, Newham Road, Truro TR1 2SU. In all matters, the decision of Cornish Mutual shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
Any personal data relating to entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the individual’s prior consent.
