Andy Wookey, Year 4 teacher and environmental coordinator at Wedmore First School, added: “It’s a privilege to be chosen as part of this campaign. We’re in the process of moving our whole school garden and this will help us immensely in establishing a new site once the ground has been prepared.
“We’ve just launched the forest school initiative and this will enable all our children to take part in outdoor learning as part of the national curriculum. We want to encourage children to explore the outdoors, using the natural environment for teaching. We support the ethos of ‘Dig Down South West’ – all schools are limited in resources and this goes a long way in helping to ease this.”
